Nepal wins PNG with quality batting, secures spot in U19 World Cup in Australia

Nepal U19 team won the most memorable victory over PNG by 28 runs at Lodge Road, Coleraine. After winning the toss, Nepal elected to bat first. Nepal U19 team kept on putting pressure on PNG bowlers from the start and were able to set a huge 1st inning score of 277/7 which remains the highest from Nepal on this tournament.

Sagar Pun (67), Pradip Airee(59) & Rajesh P. Magar (91) were the batting stars for Nepal on today’s match.


Meanwhile, PNG U19 team were bowled out for 249 in 49.3 over and Nepal won the match by 28 runs. Avinash Karn took 5 wickets for Nepal.


Rajesh Pulami Magar From Nepal was adjudged Man of The Match. He scored 91 runs from 100 balls, 8 fours and 1 six.

With this win, Nepal has been selected for ICC U19 Cricket Worldcup to be held at Australia/New Zealand on 2012.
