Nepal lose by 81 runs against India in must-win match

Nepal lost by 81 runs against India in their last (and must-win) match of Group A played at the Bayuemas Oval in Kuala Lumpur on Tuesday. By losing this match, Nepal has failed to qualify for the next round of the ACC U-19 Asia Cup. After Nepal opted to field first, India scored total 176 runs losing all their wickets in 45.2 overs as Rahul BK and Bhuwan Karki grabbed three wickets each while Sagar Pun took two wickets. Similarly, Abhisek Karn and Prithu Baskota took one wicket each. U. Chand and B. Aparajith scored 55 runs and 47 runs for India. Chasing the target, Nepal were restricted to meager 91 runs in 27.3 overs in total 50 overs. Meanwhile, the match has been stopped due to rain and the target for Nepal was revised down to 173 runs from 177 runs under Duckworth–Lewis method designed to calculate the target score. Nepal had been beaten by Pakistan in their first match while it had thrashed host Malaysia in the second match.
