Nepal U19 team dominated their 9th Match of the ICC U19 World Cup Qualifiers 2011 against USA U19 by 99 runs at Limavady Cricket Club, Limavady today.
Skipper Prithu Baskota, won the toss and elected to bat against USA U19 team . Dynamite batting display from Nepalese put USA team a challenging target of 265 runs.
During 1st inning, Opener Fajlur Rahman (26), NB Budayair(76), Wicket Keeper P Airee (57) scored respectively. Naresh and Pradeep had a century partnership between them. They scored 112 runs for the fifth wicket. Meanwhile, Krishna Karki played a cameo of 45 runs off 17 balls with 3 fours and 4 massive sixes to ensure batting dominance against USA. Nepal set a target of 265 runs at the end of 50 overs.
Prithu Baskota failed once again in today’s match.
On chasing the target, USA lost 3 early wickets for 15 runs. With the solid 4th wicket partnership of 63 runs between SR Taylor(51) and P Suri(13), USA managed to make 78 runs on board in 21st over. SR Ahmad added 38 runs from 75 balls with a four and 2 sixes for USA before being bowled by Rahul Vishwakarma. S Abdulghani made 21 runs off 35 balls with three big sixes. GS Sandhu remained not out at 13 runs. Nepal once again looked good with the bowlers on field. They started brilliantly with quick wickets taken. Avinash Karn started the break point for Nepal with two of two wickets in the first over. Krishna Karki and Sagar Pun took one wicket each for Nepal while Prithu Baskota added 2 and Rahul Vishawakarma added 4 wickets and reached the second in the highest wicket taker tally with 21 wickets.
