The gold price set a new record high of Rs. 56,900 per tola (11.644 gm) in the domestic market on Wednesday, breaking the previous record of Rs. 56,800 per tola on Sunday, the first trading day this week.
The price of the precious yellow metal has shot up in the domestic market following the rise in its price in the international market due to increasing dollar value in the international market.
The gold price had reached up to US$ 1,626 per ounce in the international market on Wednesday.
