With the help of last minute goal scored by skipper Sagar Thapa, Nepal beat Bangladesh by a goal in their second group match of SAFF Championship played at the JN Stadium in New Delhi on Sunday. Though Nepal dominated the match, they failed to score in the regular time. Skipper Thapa scored the goal in the last minute of extra time of second half in a foul kick. In the 32nd minute of the match, an injured striker Jumanu Rai was substituted by Santosh Sahukhala. With today's victory, Nepal's chances to reach the semifinals have been stronger. With both the sides scoring one goal each, Nepal had drawn its first match with the Maldives on Friday.
