Nepal improved their ranking by six places to eighth in the recently published International Cricket Council (ICC) Group ‘A’ rankings for the Associate and Affiliate Nations of the year 2011. The performances of the senior, women and junior team, development of cricket, infrastructures and manpower and the financial arrangements of the cricket associations of the respective nations determined the rankings, informed the Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN). Ireland lead the ranking followed by Papua New Guinea, Canada, Scotland, Netherlands, Kenya, United Arab Emirates. Namibia is ranked ninth and Afghanistan 10th.
