‘Bbuddah..’ replaces ‘Delhi Belly’ in Nepal multiplexes

Written By Pbc on Monday, 4 July 2011 | 05:23

Aamir’s ‘Delhi Belly’, has been banned in Nepal and the multiplex owners there have replaced the movie with Big B’s ‘Bbuddah Hoga Tera Bap'

The Censor Board of Nepal had asked the theater owners to axe some scenes which contained offensive language, before screening the film. However, the cinema house owners turned a deaf ear to the Censor Board and started screening the film without deleting the censored scenes.Consequently, the Censor Board filed a complaint against the cinema hall owners, following which the Kathmandu district administration banned the screening of the movie till further orders.

After the ban on the screening of 'Delhi Belly' most of the cinema halls in the country replaced the Imran starrer A-grade film with Amitabh’s ‘Bbuddah Hoga Terra Baap’.

Police raided Gopi Krishna Movies on Sunday, and found that the movie hall owners were not abiding by the Censor’s instructions. 'Delhi Belly' was being screened inclusive of the abusive scenes.

The punishment for offenders, as per the country’s censorship laws, is that the film’s distributors can either be fined a sum of NRs 10,000 (Rs 6250) or can be imprisoned for a year or can be penalized with both.

'Delhi Belly' producer Aamir Khan, who is currently riding high on the success of his film in India, when asked to react on the ban stated that he was ignorant of the Nepal Censor Board’s rules and regulations.

However, he feels that the Nepal government should realize that they too have adults in their country.

'Delhi Belly' has been banned in Nepal and Pakistan.
