In extending its congratulations to Nepal on the occasion of the Republic Day, the Embassy of Japan on Sunday took the opportunity to urge the leaders to realise the crucial pending tasks of completing the peace process and drafting the new constitution in the revised time frame.
While commending Nepal on the three-month extension of the Constituent Assembly at the eleventh hour, Japan made it a point to emphasise the need of the hour that twice the efforts would be necessary from all quarters to achieve the twin objectives. Acknowledging the mammoth size of the challenges ahead, it stressed on constructive dialogue and mutual understanding from all political parties as the means to realise the aspirations of Nepal’s citizens for which the Constituent Assembly was formed three years ago.
Japan also assured Nepal of its firm commitment in this regard.
