Well known actor, producer, and director of Indian film industry, Dev Anand passed away due to heart attack in London, last night. He was 88. The star, who liked to call himself a good friend of Nepal, selected Nepali territory for the shooting of his films like Harerama Harekrishna, Hira Panna including others. The Hindi cine star had acted and produced around 100 films. Normally, he was fond of producing and acting in romantic films and had produced and played his role in Guide, Jewel Thief, Tere Mere Sapane, Gambler, Desh Pardesh, Paying Guest, Baji, CID, Joni Mera Nam, Amir Garib, Wanted and many others. He went London for the treatment a few days ago. He was busy on producing film Charge Sheet at the twilight hours of his life. His fans would get chance of enjoying his last film soon. The star was born in Punjab of Pakistan in 1923 AD and began his filmy carrier in 1946 AD from ‘Hum Ek Hain’ and was busy in film industries more than six decades. He was awarded with Padma Bhusan in 2001, Dada Saheb Falke Award in 2002, and Film Fair Award.
