The price of gold has sharply plunged down by 3,350 per tola (11.644 gm) to Rs. 51,850 per tola on Friday from Rs. 55,200 per tola on Sunday last week.
The price of the precious yellow metal has plunged in the domestic market following the decline in the price in the international market, according to Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers’ Association (NGSDA).
The price of gold has sharply dropped to US$ 1585 per ounce on Friday from Sunday’s US$ 1711 per ounce in the international market following the fluctuation of US dollar and due to the economic crisis in the Euro-zone.
Similarly, the price of the silver metal has also plunged to US$ 29.38 per ounce from Sunday’s US$ 32.25 per ounce in the international market.
The price of gold had touched Rs. 55,800 per tola in what is the highest price ever recorded in the domestic market some three weeks ago.
