PM Dr. Bhattarai asks security officials to minimise traffic woes caused by his convoy

Prime Minister Dr. Baburam Bhattarai has instructed the security heads not to stop normal traffic or clear the roads during his travels.

During a meeting with heads of security agencies Saturday, Bhattarai said he was worried by the traffic problems caused by his convoy and asked them not to prevent vehicular traffic or human movement during his travels in the city.

Bhattarai is also known to have told the security officials that he would prefer simple travel and asked them not to make his convoy boastful.

Security officials had cautioned that his choice of vehicle was not appropriate from security point of view but the PM, who is known for his simple living style, stayed by his decision.

Earlier, PM Bhattarai made headlines by picking Nepal-made Mustang jeep for his travels instead of Luxury SUVs used by his predecessors.

Buoyed by the unexpected publicity after the PM picked Mustang, Hulas Motors, the maker of the jeep originally meant for tough, unpaved roads in the hilly areas, has started customisation on the vehicle, adding safety and luxury to it.
