Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Upendra Yadav inaugurated Nepal House on Monday amidst a special function held in the presence of Deputy Governor of Kaluga Region of Russia Vladimir V Potemkin. The Nepal House is located some 100 kilometers away from Moscow.
According to a press statement issued by Nepalese embassy in Moscow, Governor of Central Bank of Nepal Dr Yuvraj Khatiwada, Russian ambassador to Nepal Dr Sergey V Velichin, Nepal's ambassador to Russia Surya Kiran Gurung, the owner and founder of Global Village where Nepal House is situated, Ruslan Bayramov, and NRNs were present on the occasion.
Inaugurating the House, Minister Yadav expressed happiness on the construction of the emblem of Nepal-Russia friendship. He also expressed confidence that the Nepal House would bring both countries closer than before and would help to further strengthen the bilateral relation that is based on friendship, cooperation and mutual understanding.
Minister Yadav also held meeting with Russian Chief Justice Vyacheslav M Labedev and First Deputy Foreign Minister and Action Foreign Minister A. I. Denisov.
During the meeting with Minister Denisov, Yadav also asked Russia to invest in Nepal in hydropower generation, tourism, infrastructure development and agriculture sectors. Minister Denisov thanked Nepal for consistently supporting Russia at international forums.
According to the press statement, a cooperation agreement was also signed between the Federation of the Chamber of Commerce and Industries of Nepal and Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industries.
