With a view to promote Chyangra Pashmina, a collective trademark for pashmina products of Nepal, the Nepal Pashmina Industries Association (NPIA) will be soon launching promotional campaigns in local as well as international media.
The Government of Nepal has promised that it would provide the required budget for the purpose.
The NPIA has revealed that leading broadcast media like CNN and BBC and popular magazines like ‘Draper’, ‘Vogue’ and ‘Gap Press’ would be engaged in the campaign to promote Nepali pashmina.
The campaign will be aimed at generating awareness amongst the potential overseas buyers regarding the quality and attributes of Nepali pashmina.
In addition to this, NPIA intends to place promotional hoardings for Chyangra Pashmina at the Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) in Kathmandu.
The association even intends to launch this campaign in leading markets for Nepali pashmina goods like the US, Europe and some Asian countries.
Moreover, NPIA is also making a documentary film on Nepali pashmina and is strategizing to distribute the same through foreign embassies in the country, and Nepali embassies in other countries.
During the first three quarters of the current fiscal year, the country’s pashmina exports witnessed a year-on-year fall of 3.6 percent and decreased to NPR 929 million.
