To promote Nepali literature, to have literary conversations and celebrate literature at its best, Bookworm Trust, a subsidiary of Bookworm, the bookstore at Jhamsikhel, Patan, is organizing a four-day literature festival called Nepal Literature Festival from Thursday, August 18 to 21 at Moksh of Gyan Mandala in Jhamsikhel.
“We organized this program with the intent to promote Nepali literature. Our literature is constrained in narrow circles and we hardly have writers discussing literary aspects. Therefore, we wanted to bring everyone on one platform and share ideas,” said Ajit Baral, President of Bookworm Trust and also the festival director.
He further informed that the litfest will have discussions on various topics. For instance, the very first day will have two discussions: one, on craft and content; and the other with deliberations on column writing.
The festival also hopes to create a democratic discursive space for writers and readers and promote Nepali literature in the national and international spheres.
At this literature festival, some of the most creative minds from, and outside of, Nepal will come together to have discussions on various topics. With its various innovative and interactive sessions, the participants can unleash and savor the beauty of literature.
The event is sponsored by Ncell.
The program is open to all, and entrance is free. It starts from 11 am and ends at 7 pm everyday.
