Nepal government has dismissed allegations against Swami Ramdev aide Acharya Balkrishna as baseless. Issuing a press statement, the home ministry refuted allegations about Balkrishna’s involvement in criminal activities in Nepal. The statement was in response to reports in Indian media on allegations labeled by senior Congress leader Digvijay Singh about Balkrishna committing crimes in Nepal and fleeing to India.
The CBI is at present investigating whether the Nepali citizen had procured an Indian passport by producing fake documents. Born in a remote village in Syangja district of western Nepal, Balkrishna’s parents claim he was born in Haridwar in 1972.
The family returned to Nepal when he was three months old. Balkrishna maintains he went back to India at the age of 11 and has been residing there ever since.
