Tirtha Bahadur Tamang was declared winner of the first Annapurna Marathon, which began on Friday morning.
He covered a total distance of 42.196 kilometers from Annapurna base camp to Dhampus in 4 hours, 23 minutes and 21 seconds.
Nepal Army´s Purna Bahadur Tamang stood second in the marathon by covering the distance within 4 hours, 23 minutes and 51 seconds.
Similarly, Samir Tamang completed the race within 4 hours, 38 minutes and 7 seconds and secured the third position.
The marathon which started at the height of 47 hundred meters is considered to be one of the most famous marathons in the world.
After winning the race, Tirtha Bahadur Tamang said that he was confident of his victory and added that his hard work had paid off.
Tamang had participated in the Everest Marathon last year and had completed it securing the fifth position.

In the women’s category, Yandi Sherpa completed the race within 6 hours, 2 minutes and 2 seconds to claim the first position. Over all she secured the 11th position.
