Floods and landslides triggered by heavy monsoon rains that began last week have killed at least 18 people in various parts of Nepal.
On Sunday morning, three women and three children from a single family were killed when a landslide swept away their house in central Nepal. A rescue team of security personnel including Nepal Army members deployed in the incident site immediately.
The rains have also damaged roads, obstructed travel, and inundated dozens of houses.
Local officials have launched a massive rescue operation, clearing the highways obstructed by the landslide in various parts of the country.
Landslides and floods kill scores every year in Nepal as more than 70 percent of the country is composed of hills and mountains.
